Dear God, we thank you for bubbles, farm babies, warm sunshine, and playing outside. Thank you for parks, homes and families. We love you Jesus! EAGLES NEST PROGRAM: Our Before School Eagles Nest will run through Friday, May 26 and the last day for After School Eagles Nest for this year is Thursday, May 25. HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR PRIVATE K-12 SCHOOLS WI GRANT PROGRAM - Enclosed in your white envelope is a flier describing how you can help advocate for private schools like ours to receive this funding from the state. If you did not place an order you still can. Ordering information is on your proof sheet. SCHOOL COLOR FRIDAYS: Students are encouraged to dress in school colors, blue and white, on Fridays. Show your school spirit! PRESCHOOL SPRING PROGRAM - MONDAY, APRIL 24: Our Preschool students will present their Spring Program on Monday, April 24 at 10 a.m. in the parish hall. Please join us for a reception following the program. 4YK SPRING PROGRAM - TUESDAY, APRIL 25: Our 4YK students will present their Spring Program on Tuesday, April 25 at 10 a.m. in the parish hall. Please join us for a reception following the program. SCREENING DAY - WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26: Our 4YK students will not have class on Wednesday, April 26 due to District Screening that day. LIBRARY PROGRAM - FRIDAY, APRIL 28: Our Kindergarten - 5th Grade students will be attending a performance at Ellsworth Elementary School hosted by the Ellsworth Public Library. Talewise, a mix of science and storytelling, will highlight the library’s Summer Reading Program. WALK FOR VIRTUES - PLEDGE FORMS DUE WEDNESDAY, MAY 3: Student pledge forms (not the money) are due next week, Wednesday, May 3. The committee will copy them that evening. A copy will be sent home with students on May 5, after the Walk, so that they are able to collect their pledges and turn in their money on Monday, May 8. WALK FOR VIRTUES - FRIDAY, MAY 5: We’re very excited to walk together for this great fundraiser. This year’s goal is $7,500! We will gather at school to begin our walk at 8:30 am. We will walk from school to the Ellsworth High School Track. All students grades 4K-5 will be walking. All parents and siblings are welcome. Younger siblings need to be under the direct supervision of a parent at all times. While strollers may be used for younger siblings walking to the track, strollers of any kind are not allowed on the High School track. 4K-Grade 2 will walk from 8:30-11:00 and Grades 3-5 will walk from 8:30-11:30. There are MANY more details about this wonderful annual event included in the forms enclosed in todays’ monthly envelope. Thanks for making this family event a successful fundraiser! SPRING PROGRAM & ART SHOW - THURSDAY, MAY 11: We will present our Spring Program & Art Show on Thursday, May 11 at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. We will have a K-5 dress rehearsal Wednesday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. This is open to anyone who would like to attend. The kindergarten students will also have a symbolic graduation at the end of the program. Please join us for the reception that will follow. Weather permitting, we will hold the reception outside! SPRING PROGRAM VIDEO: Our Spring Program will be recorded and a youtube link will be sent out as soon as it’s available. LANDSCAPE LOVE - FRIDAY, MAY 12: The fourth and fifth grade classes will be heading to Angie and Bob McHardy’s to provide landscaping service that was purchased at last year’s Gala. TOUR OF ELLSWORTH LIBRARY - MONDAY, MAY 15: Our preschool - 2nd grade students will be walking to the Ellsworth Library on Monday, May 15 for a tour and program. Permission slips for these students and a sign up form for parents to chaperone are included in the monthly envelope today. Please complete and return by Wednesday, May 3. 5TH GRADE TRIP TO VALLEYFAIR - THURSDAY, MAY 18: Our Fifth grade students will take their class trip to Valley Fair on Thursday, May 18. MASS THE FINAL TWO WEEKS: Mass the final two weeks of school will be held on Friday, May 19th and Friday, May 26th. There will not be Mass on Wednesdays those weeks. GR. 5 - D.A.R.E. GRADUATION, MASS OF COMPLETION, BRUNCH & TREE PLANTING-FRIDAY, MAY 19: All of these wonderful 5th grade activities will be held on Friday, May 19th. GRADES K-5 - LAST DAY OF CLASSES/MASS/AWARDS CEREMONY – FRIDAY, MAY 26: Our last day of classes for kindergarten through fifth grade students will be Friday, May 26. This day will include our All-School Awards Assembly in our church immediately following the 8:30 am Mass. Our fifth and fourth grade classes will take on their parents in a softball game and families will bring their own picnic lunches. Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm. We will not have bus service at this time since the public school has a full day of school. Please plan accordingly. We will use the following schedule: 8:05 Classes begin, as usual 8:30 Mass and Awards Ceremony 10:00 Recess (approximate time, 15 minutes of recess will follow the awards ceremony.) 10:15 Return to classrooms for cleaning, final projects. 11:00 Softball game - Fifth grade and Fourth grade students versus their parents. 11:45 Bring your own picnic lunch 12:25 Return to classrooms for report cards & summer farewells 12:30 Dismissal Please note: In the event of significant rain, an announcement would be made in church at the end of the Awards Ceremony regarding adjustments in the schedule for the remainder of the day. CARNIVAL UPDATE: Who are the people in your neighborhood? The votes are in, our wonderful students of St. Francis school voted and the 2023 St. Francis Carnival theme is... 'Community'. Please return by Wednesday, May 3. ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL GALA – APRIL 22: Thank you to EVERYONE for making this week and night such a success! Thank you specifically to Amy Loberg and the Gala committee. The St. Francis School Gala Committee would like to extend a very special thank you to school families for your outpouring of support during the “School of Rock” Gala! With your help, we raised a record-breaking $125,611 for our school!!!! This money will fund HVAC updates, new desks and furniture for classrooms, new textbooks, and marketing to grow our school. We would like to extend a special thank you to Loberg Law Office for their Beatles sponsorship. If you weren’t able to participate in the gala and would like to donate, the fund-a-need and pledge drive are still open at www.stfrancisellsworth.org/gala. Thank you so much for your support! Cheers! END OF YEAR PARENT CELEBRATION: Join us at Common Man on Monday, May 22nd to celebrate the end of the school year with fellow parents. Cost for this event is $15/person which includes salad, sliders, and french fries. There will also be a cash bar available. Social hour will begin at 5pm with food being served at 6pm. FRANCIS GOLF TOURNAMENT: The 3rd Annual St. Francis School Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, August 18th at Ellsworth Country Club with a shotgun start at 2:30pm. Cost is $50/person and $10/cart rental per person. The cost includes green fees, gift, and dinner. Dinner and raffle will follow the conclusion of your round. Save the Dates for the TOTUS TUUS Team coming, again, this summer! The Day Program for children in Grades 1-6 will be Monday through Friday, July 24 - 28, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. The Evening Program for youth in Grades 7 - 12 will be Sunday - Thursday, July 23 - 27, from 6:00 pm to 8:45 pm. TOTUS TUUS is a Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic Faith. The Team is made up of College Students and Seminarians who are put into teams of 4 and trained to go out to a parish for a week in order to teach the faith and inspire the young in a way that is fun for both the team and the youth alike. TASTE OF TUSCANY: The Ellsworth Community School District Foundation is hosting its annual Taste of Tuscany on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Vino in the Valley. You are invited to enjoy live music, wine tasting, wagon rides, a silent auction, and buffet meal. Social hour begins at 4:30 pm and dinner is served from 5-8 pm. Tickets cost $40 and are available to purchase online at: www.ellsworthcommunityschoolfoundation.org/events Proceeds from the event fund the Foundation’s EXCELL grants, which St. Francis is eligible for and has been awarded in the past.
