Dear St. Francis School Families,

Please join us in prayer for our Faith.
We all need to seek God in prayer with our joys, worries, and thankful moments.
Thank you for being a prayer partner for our school.  This week we will be lifting up all of our Faith in prayer.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.   1 John 5:14

PRAYER PARTNERS:  Next week we will join together in prayer for our Families.

Kindness – You treat others with respect just as you would want to be treated

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.   Ephesians 4:32

Ella, Arie, Emmie, Merrick, Jordyn, Gavin , Evie

VIRTUE AWARDS FOR PATIENCE:
Patience – You wait and have a good attitude while waiting.

4YK – CAUGHT SHOWING CHARACTER:
Patience – Deni

WELCOME WEDNESDAYS:  We are inviting interested families to tour our school during one of our upcoming ‘Welcome Wednesday’ events to see first-hand what their child will experience as a student at St. Francis School. Welcome Wednesdays take place Wednesdays, now through April 10, from 10am-11am. This is an opportunity for them to meet the people and see the spaces that inspire children to dream big and do right.

Our current school families are our biggest fans and best advocates! Enclosed in this week’s envelope you will find Welcome Wednesday info cards. We are asking you to help us spread the word by passing along one of these cards to anyone you think may be interested. If no one comes to mind, get creative as to where you could ask to leave a card (salons, local businesses, area churches, banks, etc). Thank you for helping to promote our great school!

REGISTRATION FORMS FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR:   Please send in your registration forms and tuition payment plans as soon as possible.  There is tuition assistance available to help those in need of financial support.  An anonymous donor does not want the cost of tuition to inhibit your child from attending our school and may be able to help cover part of your tuition amount.  Please contact Mr. Buckel for more information about tuition assistance for next year; all inquiries will be kept confidential.

CARPENTER NATURE CENTER:  Each class will take a field trip to the Carpenter St. Croix Nature Center this spring as part of our science curriculum.  I’ve combined the permission slips onto one page as well as the request for parent chaperones on a second page.  Please return the forms with appropriate fees by Wednesday, March 20.  There is no cost for parent chaperones.

RECONCILIATION - GR. 3-5:  Father Eric will offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to our fourth grade students on Wednesday, March 13, and our fifth grade students on Wednesday, March 20.

HOME & SCHOOL MEETING – RESCHEDULED:  Due to having to cancel our last Home and School meeting, we are planning to reschedule for Thursday, March 14.  The meeting will take place at 6pm in the KC Room.  Because of this change, we will also be moving the last meeting of the year to Thursday May 2, also at 6pm in the KC Room.  I apologize for the inconvenience and hope we can hold these last two meetings as scheduled!
If you have an agenda item, please contact Katie Feuerhelm at katiefeuerhelm@gmail.com.  As always, there will be child care available at the meeting and we will provide dinner starting at 5:30.  Thank you!

NEW DATE: GR. 5 - MUSIC CLASS – FOLKTALE – THURSDAY, MARCH 14:  As part of our music curriculum, our fifth grade students study a folktale, and incorporate a variety of musical instruments into the telling of the tale.  Fifth grade parents are invited to attend one or both of the presentations of the folk tale in the Parish Hall on Thursday, March 14 at 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  The presentations will last approximately 15 minutes.

GR. 5 PARENT & STUDENT MTG - “GROWING IN LOVE” - MARCH 20: Wonder how you’ll talk with your child about his/her body changes as he/she approaches puberty?  Alice Heinzen and Jeff Arrowood, of our diocesan Office of Family Life, have a presentation, entitled “Growing in Love”, for fifth grade parents and their child that conveys the information children need to know, integrated with appropriate humor and a deep respect for God’s gift of sexuality.  Fifth grade students and their parents will meet for this presentation on Wednesday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall.  Because of the sensitive nature of the puberty topics that will be covered, no child may attend without his/her parent present.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29 IS NOW A SCHOOL DAY:  St. Francis students will now have classes on Friday, March 29 due to the many snow days this winter.  Friday, April 5 is still an in-service day for St. Francis as our teachers will be attending the Diocese Faith In-service in Eau Claire that day.  More information about our snow make up days will be included in your weekly envelope next week.

TEACHER INSERVICE - NO CLASSES - APRIL 5:  Although the public school has made this a student day, St. Francis students WILL NOT have classes on Friday, April 5 as our teachers will be attending a diocesan teacher in-service in Eau Claire, WI.

2018-2019 YEARBOOK ORDERS:  Orders are being taken for this year’s yearbook.  As in the past, the yearbook will be delivered next September, allowing us to include photos through the last day of school!  The price for the all-color, 28 page, soft-cover yearbook is $20.00.  You can order your yearbook online at YBPay.lifetouch.com with the Yearbook ID Code: 1934619. You may also send your payment to school.  Please make checks payable to St. Francis School.  You may write one check for all of your children.

We Love our School!

"St. Francis School has been a wonderful place for my children to grow their Christian values, education and confidence. This close community of students, teachers and parish members is great to be a part of. By being active in the Home and School Association, I've had the opportunity to help the school in its desire for continued improvement. The relationships that I've formed through this experience have been the icing on the cake." Anne Matzek
