FIELD TRIPS: If you plan to chaperone a field trip, be sure that proper Safe Environment forms are on file in the school office and your background check is current. Also, our parish requires everyone who volunteers to fill out and sign the Volunteer Workers Hold Harmless Agreement. If your paperwork is not up to date, the required forms are included in your weekly envelope. Please return by Wednesday, September 21st.
ELLSWORTH HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING ITEMS FOR SALE: During the week of September 26th, several EHS students will come to St. Francis during lunch to sell Homecoming items. Homecoming is on Friday, September 30th.
YEARBOOK SIGNING - SEPT. 23: Our 2015-2016 yearbooks have arrived! We will have a yearbook signing activity on Friday Sept. 23. If your family ordered a yearbook last spring, we are sending the payment envelope back to you in today’s newsletter as a reminder that you ordered a yearbook. No payment envelope means no yearbook was ordered. The yearbooks will be given to students on Friday. We’ll have some autograph sheets available for those who do not have a yearbook to be signed. We do have extra yearbooks on hand for anyone who would like to purchase one at this time. Cost is $20, and checks should be made payable to St. Francis School.
DIOCESAN TEACHER INSERVICE - NO CLASSES – FRI., SEPT. 30: St. Francis students will not have classes on Friday, Sept. 30 as our teachers will be attending a Diocesan Teacher In-service at McDonnel High School in Chippewa Falls on that day.
GRADES 4YK & K - FIELD TRIP TO THE AFTON APPLE ORCHARD – MON., OCT. 3: 4YK and Kindergarten students will take a field trip to the Afton Apple Orchard; 14421 90th St S.; Hastings, MN. on Monday, October 3rd. The permission slip with additional information is included in this packet. Please return the permission slip with payment by Wednesday, Sept. 28th.
SCHOOL COLORS DAY/CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS/PET BLESSING - OCT. 4: The feast day of our school and parish patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi, is Tuesday October 4. This day is always one of great celebration for our entire parish! We will attend the 8:30 a.m. Mass on Tuesday, and students are encouraged to show their school spirit by dressing in school colors, blue and white. We do not permit face paint or hair color on any school color days. We will have a special blessing of animals, following the Mass, on the grassy area east of our church. There is a special sign-up sheet included at the bottom of this newsletter asking for parents or grandparents who would be willing to bring an animal or pet to be blessed after Mass and taken home again immediately following! Please, no pets or animals in classrooms! Please return this form by Wednesday, Sept. 28th.
HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MEETING – THURSDAY, OCT. 6: The Home and School Association will hold its first meeting of the year at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th in the parish hall. Please join us to learn how you can be a part of the excitement of our school. Invite a friend, or one of our new families to come with you!

FIFTH GRADE MEMORY BOOK QUESTIONNAIRE: If you have not returned your Fifth Grade Questionnaire please do so this week. Remember to include a Kindergarten photo of your child!
FRIENDS OF ST. FRANCIS ADDRESSES: Addresses for our Friends of St. Francis campaign are due by the end of this week (this was the yellow sheet that came home in the first newsletter). This annual newsletter will be sent to family, friends, and alumni to communicate the amazing things happening at our school and ask for their prayerful donation. Since this campaign will to replace our candy bar sales, Scrip, coupon books, frozen pizzas, and the garage sale it is very important that everyone adds their contacts to our list in order for us to meet our financial goal.
