JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON: During this Advent season, we will be collecting food or monetary donations for the Pierce County Food Shelf. Children can bring donations any time from November 28 – December 16. We will also be collecting the night of the Christmas program. Thank you in advance for helping us prepare our hearts for the season of Christmas!
WEDNESDAY MASS MUSIC: Please contact the school if you know of anyone who might be able to play piano/organ for the Wednesday morning Mass that is attended by our students.
RECONCILIATION FOR ADVENT: Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be receiving Reconciliation with Father Eric during the month of December.
FIRST RECONCILIATION: First Reconciliation will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Francis Church.
ADORATION/BENEDICTION - DEC. 2: Students will attend Mass on Friday, December 2nd and will stay
for adoration and benediction following Mass.
SCHOOL COLORS DAY - DEC. 2: Students are encouraged to dress in school colors, blue and white, on the first Friday of the month, Dec. 2. Show your school pride!
NO SCHOOL - DEC. 8: Students will not have classes on Thursday, December 8 as we observe the holy day, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM - DEC. 15: Grades K-5 will present their annual Christmas Program on Thurs., Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in the church. We will have a reception in the parish hall immediately following the program. Each family is asked to bring some type of food (cookies, bars, cheese & crackers, etc.) for this reception.
A dress rehearsal will be held Wed., Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. This is open to anyone who would like to attend.
4YK WINTER PROGRAM - DEC. 20: Our 4YK students will present a Winter Program to their parents and guests on Tues., Dec. 20. Our 4YK students and their parents are invited to join us for breakfast following the program. More information including your RSVP for breakfast is included in this packet. Please return the RSVP by Wednesday, December 7th.
CHRISTMAS VACATION: Students will be dismissed at 2:45 on Thursday, December 22nd for Christmas vacation. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.
WEATHER RELATED SCHOOL CLOSINGS: You will be notified by the St. Francis JMC system about school closings. You should receive a test call on Monday, November 28th to be sure the system is working properly. Please let us know if you DID NOT receive this test call.
The Ellsworth district will continue to publicize any school closing or delayed starts on these radio/television stations, as well as the district website.

St. Francis School is not listed separately, but is included when the listing indicates Ellsworth Community School District. In the event of a two hour delay, St. Francis 4YK students will not have classes.
POTENTIAL INCOMING 4YK STUDENTS: We will begin our registration process for next year in early January with a mailing to potential 4YK students. If you have a child who will be 4 years of age by September 1, 2017, and would like to receive registration materials for St. Francis School, please send us your child’s name and birth date as soon as possible. If you know of a family in our area who might like to receive registration information for any grade, please send or call us with the contact information. PIERCE CO. HERALD ACTIVITY - GRADES K & 1: Kindergarten and first grade students have been
invited to participate in the Pierce County Herald letters and wish lists to Santa activity. The letters will run in the Pierce County Herald in the December 21st edition. Students will complete these
letters/lists in their classrooms.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CHRISTMAS POSTER CONTEST: Students in grades 1-5 have been
invited to participate in the annual KC Christmas Poster Contest. First place entries from grades 1-4 are eligible to be sent on to the diocesan level contest. Our local council has decided not to include Kindergarten students this year, in alliance with the KC State Council contest. Students will complete these posters at school. Winners will be announced at our Christmas program on Dec. 15.
