Dear St. Francis School Families,
You loved this world so much,
That you gave your one and only Son,
That we might be called your children too.
Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace
Of Easter Sunday, everyday.
Let us have hearts of thankfulness
For your sacrifice.
Let us have eyes that look upon
Your grace and rejoice in our salvation.
Help us to walk in that mighty grace
And tell your good news to the world.
All for your glory do we pray, Lord,
Words of Wisdom - Thanks to many for sharing your Words of Wisdom. Here is one of the great entries. Please look for the wall display at school of many others too. When the root is deep, there is no reason to fear the wind!
We feel very blessed to be a part of the St. Francis School family. The decision to choose St. Francis was an easy one. Our older 2 children attended public school and although the experience was fine, we were looking for something a little different. When our daughter, Maggie, was going to be attending 4yk we chose St. Francis. We really liked the closeness you felt in the school. The smaller class sizes were very important to us as well as the faith aspect. The communication between administration and staff with parents is exceptional. The students within the school all become an extended family and look after one another. We are very happy with our choice and have sent our younger son to St. Francis and will send our youngest too! We know the school is teaching our children not just knowledge but faith to help them grow and succeed throughout life. Bob and Angie McHardy ~ Parents of Alyssa, Tanner, Maggie, Bentley and Jordy

We had a wonderful final meeting, last Thursday. Thanks for your participation. We had guest speakers that included Lars Loberg and Vicki Cobian. We enjoyed hearing about their times at St. Francis and how it has shaped their lives. Thank you to them both for joining us!
Special thanks to our out-going officers: Anne Matzek-President, Jessica Puhrmann-Secretary and Angie Marks-Co-Treasurer. Also thanks to Thia Rewolinski for committing to another year as Treasurer. Your gift of time and service is greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to our newly elected officers: Vice President- Katie Feuerhelm, Co-Treasurer- Angie McHardy and Secretary - Jen VanWatermeulen. Thank you for agreeing to share your time and talents with our Home and School Association!
Friends of St. Francis Pledge Campaign: Last fall we kicked off our Friends of St. Francis campaign. Grandparents, aunts and uncles, school alumni, and supporters of our school sent in donations totaling over $7,000! The beauty of this campaign is that there is no deadline to accept donations. Please reach out to friends and family and remind them to make their donation. Funds help us offset increased expenses for this year and beyond - and keep the tradition of a Catholic education alive in the Ellsworth area! Donations can be made directly to the school (Attn: Friends of St. Francis) or online via our website www.stfrancisellsworth.org.
We will also be starting to collect addresses for next year’s Friends of St. Francis newsletter/pledge. Watch for an email coming later this week.
School Uniform Survey: We are exploring the interest in school uniforms and would like you to complete this survey. Find it at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8BJ6V7W
If you have any questions, please contact Thia Rewolinski at 715-456-9977 or firstname.lastname@example.org. This is not an official vote, but will be a guide for our future Principal or Head Teacher.
EASTER VACATION SCHEDULE: There are no classes on Good Friday, April 14 or Easter Monday, April 17. Thursday, April 13th is a school day, as it is the first snow make-up day from January 17.
HOLY WEEK SERVICES: Yesterday we began Holy Week in our Catholic Church with the celebration of Palm (or Passion) Sunday. We end our Lenten observance on Thursday night, as Holy Thursday begins the solemn celebration of the Sacred Triduum. Triduum means “three days.” These three days begin on Holy Thursday evening, continue with Good Friday and the Easter Vigil, and conclude with Vespers (Evening Prayer) Easter Sunday evening.
I hope that you and your children make a sincere effort to attend many of the liturgies of during this week as we listen to the stories of our salvation history, and have an opportunity to reflect on the rich symbolism of our tradition. It’s a great opportunity to share your faith with your children, helping to answer their questions about what they will see and hear during these liturgies.
