Dear St. Francis School Families,
As we approach Christmas, dear God, help each of us recognize what Jesus has done for us and the new direction he has given us. May each of us this Christmas make a special effort to live out Jesus‘ example and make this Christmas a beautiful one. Amen
Thank you to all who attended our Christmas Program last Thursday evening! What a great job by the children! Special thanks to Mrs. Penton, our music teacher, along with all of our staff, for their efforts in working with the children to make it special! Thanks for the wonderful assortment of food brought for the reception and to our Home & School officers for taking care of the beverages. Thank you to all who helped with clean-up in the church, and in the parish hall following the reception.
On behalf of the entire staff, thank you to our Home & School Association for the Ellsworth Creamery gift boxes! We are grateful for your thoughtfulness!

NEWSLETTER: The next newsletter will be sent out on Monday, January 7.
MASS LOCATION CHANGE: Mass will be held in the Parish Hall this week.
CARNIVAL UPDATE: Included in today's envelope are two sets of raffle tickets for families to sell. All funds raised will support the day to day operations of St. Francis School. Please locate these tickets and read the letter enclosed. Please, DO NOT LOSE your set of tickets. They should be returned with payment by Feb. 1st 2019. We do track the Grand Raffle Tickets and need all 200 sold and accounted for by the actual Carnival that will take place Feb. 24th. Thanks for your support on this exciting fundraiser! More tickets are available at the office upon request.
CARNIVAL PRIZES: Items to use as prizes at the Carnival are always welcome. We receive wonderful donations from local businesses, but they are often better for adults, such as gift cards. We could use more prizes for children to give away in the bingo room or to add to the raffle prize drawings. If you have something extra from home or that you receive as a duplicate this Christmas, feel free to send it in!
FIFTH GRADE THANK YOU: The 5th grade class at St. Francis School has spent the fall learning about the challenges many people face trying to earn enough money to feed their families. After learning how many of our friends and neighbors the Ellsworth Food Pantry helps each month, the students decided to have a Holiday Food Drive to benefit the program. Through the month of December, St. Francis School and The Ellsworth Senior High Dance Team, collected 293 pounds of food and $180 that they personally delivered to the Food Pantry on December 14th.
ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL GALA – THANK YOU! The final numbers are in and our 13th annual St. Francis School Gala raised just over $25,000! A HUGE thank you to all of our generous donors, the many volunteers and parents for your time and talents, and the support of all of our attendees. The committee is already starting to plan for next year’s Gala. Please save the date for “Glory Days: A St. Francis School Reunion” on April 18, 2020 at The Ridgetop Pavilion! The Gala committee is looking for help making next year’s Gala the best yet! If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact Amy Loberg at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-492-6435.
