WALK FOR VIRTUES - MAY 4: The permission slip and request for parent volunteers is included in today’s packet. Please complete and return by Wednesday, April 11. The initial letter and pledge sheet were sent home on March 27.
CARPENTER NATURE CENTER: Each class will take a field trip to the Carpenter St. Croix Nature Center this spring as part of our science curriculum. I’ve combined the permission slips onto one page as well as the request for parent chaperones on a second page. Please return the forms with appropriate fees by Wednesday, April 11. There is no cost for parent chaperones.

HOME & SCHOOL MEETING – THURSDAY, APRIL 12: Please mark your calendars and join us for our last Home & School Meeting of the year. We’ll be welcoming special guest speakers, Bill Uelman and Meghan Kulig, from Regis Catholic Schools (the Catholic School System in Eau Claire). Bill is the Advancement Director and Meghan is the Communications Director, both positions geared towards fundraising. This is a great opportunity to learn from the best and we encourage you to attend.
Due to our guest speakers, we will keep our actual meeting very streamlined. If you have a question or topic that you would like addressed at the upcoming Home and School Association meeting, please submit it to President, Becky Beissel: firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-231-8698. It’s important to plan the agenda ahead of time, so that the meeting can move along efficiently.
ST.FRANCIS PARISH FELLOWSHIP: We're holding a St. Francis Parish Fellowship to thank the Parishioners for supporting our school. This will occur after each mass the weekend of Sat., April 14th and Sun., April 15th. We'll need the help from our school families to make this happen. GR. 2 - FIRST COMMUNION PRACTICE & BANNER MAKING - APRIL 3: Second grade families whose child will receive their First Communion at St. Francis Parish this year are reminded of our practice and banner making evening on Tuesday, April 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall.
SPRING PICTURES – APRIL 5: Students will have an opportunity to have a spring photo taken on Thursday, April 5.
PLEASE NOTE: ONLY THE STUDENTS WHO HAVE PREPAID OR RETURN THEIR ORDER FORM BY OR ON 4/5 WILL
BE PHOTOGRAPHED! This is a change from previous years. Younger brothers/sisters may be photographed, beginning at 8:00 a.m. If you wish to have a group photo taken of your children, please send a note indicating that by Wednesday, April 4. We plan to take pictures in this order for families that have prepaid: individual photos of younger siblings, any group photos, then individual photos of St. Francis students. The flyer with background choices was sent home two weeks ago. Each child needs one form with your choice of background marked for that child. SCHOOL COLORS DAY - APRIL 6: Students are encouraged to dress in school colors, blue and white, on the first Friday of the month, April 6. Mark your calendar and get in the spirit!
GR. 2 FIRST COMMUNION - APRIL 8: Our second grade students will receive their First Communion Sunday, April 8 at the 10:30 p.m. Mass. Please keep these students in your prayers as they continue to prepare for this important day!
GR. 5 - DARE GRADUATION - APRIL 20: Fifth grade parents are asked to reserve the afternoon of Friday, April 20 to attend their child’s D.A.R.E. graduation, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the parish hall.
UWRF FARM DAY - APRIL 20: Our second and third grade classes will have the opportunity to participate in the UW-RF Farm Day at the UW-River Falls Lab Farm (Mann Valley Lab Farm) Friday, April 20. Permission slips are included in the weekly envelope for those students. Please return the permission slip along with appropriate fees by Wednesday, April 11.
TEACHER INSERVICE - NO CLASSES - APRIL 25: St. Francis students will not have classes on Wednesday, April 25 as our teachers will be attending a diocesan teacher in-service in Chippewa Falls, WI.
GR. 5 BAKE SALE – APRIL 27: Our fifth grade class will hold a bake sale Friday, April 27. Items will be sold for 50 cents each. The proceeds of this sale will be used toward the cost of the fifth grade class trip to Valley Fair on May 18.
GR. 5 – MASS OF COMPLETION AND TREE PLANTING – MAY 30: Our fifth grade Mass of Completion will be at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30. After Mass, our fifth grade students will be planting a tree in memory of their class
Following the Tree Planting, we will have a light brunch reception for the fifth grade class with their parents.
SNOW MAKE UP DAY – JUNE 1: Due to our snow day on Monday, January 22, we will now have school on Friday, June 1 (first snow make-up day). This will be a half day for St. Francis and will include an awards ceremony following Mass,
5th grade softball game and all-school picnic lunch. The last day for our 4YK at St. Francis will be Thursday, May 31.
